Gluten Free Goodness In Every Way – Canyon Bakehouse

If you have visited my site in the past months, you may have noticed that I have been slowly incorporating more Gluten Free food products into my everyday eating. No, I do not have Celiac disease (intolerant to gluten); I just want to be healthier. I have been paying more and more attention to the products that are there in the market when it comes to gluten free-ness (sp?), and I came across this company … Canyon Bakehouse.

Canyon Bakehouse is a dedicated gluten-free bakery located in Loveland, Colorado. They recognize the need for great-tasting, gluten-free products that combine great flavor with soft texture and healthy ingredients.Canyon Bakehouse opened for business in November 2009, making gluten free bread for the Rocky Mountain Region of Whole Foods,and are now available across the country in over 1,000 stores.

Now, I can honestly say that in the past 4-5 months, I have tried many Gluten Free breads,some well known and some not , but Canyon Bakehouse has got to be one of my top favorites so far on my list. I say that because of a few factors… the main one being it really tastes good. I consider myself to be a foodie,which by my definition means that I love food. I love eating it and writing about it. In my experience with some GF breads, the breads tend to be moist for a short time and then they dry out quickly. They also seem to lose their flavor. However, this isn’t the case with Canyon Bakehouse breads.  I received a good variety of breads from the company as a product review and they all taste really good and they haven’t dried out once the wrapper was opened. Here’s my take on the products I received .

One of the products I was given was the 7 Grain bread. I had some for breakfast one morning. I made a bacon,egg, and cheese sandwich. It was absolutely delicious, and although I am not really a fan of many multi-grain breads, I enjoyed the texture and flavor that greeted me on my plate.

I also received a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread. While I am used to a more cinnamon-y sweet bread, this as a gluten free bread really hit the spot. Spread a little butter (or non butter) on top,add your favorite fruit, and you’ve got a great breakfast or snack !

I also had two other breads sent to me. They were the Canyon Bakehouse GF Hamburger buns and the rosemary and thyme focaccia . I haven’t quite gotten to tasting those two yet, but the are in the freezer awaiting their turn. *TIP* If you are not planning on using.eating your GF bread (or any bread) for a while, it’s a good idea to keep the product frozen until ready to use.  I would recommend that if you are looking for a good Gluten Free company that offers high quality,great tasting  products,you should try Canyon Bakehouse.
