There’s a not so new drink craze going around all over the world today, and if you have heard of it by now,I’ll tell you what it is … Green Tea . For years now, Green Tea has a been one of the top healthy drinks in the world. And with good reason;Green tea was first brewed in 2737 BC during the reign of Emperor Shennong. (Wikipedia). Long story short, a lot of people have been drinking green tea for a looooong time. And there are some great benefits to drinking the tea. But probably something you didn’t know is that you can have your green tea a different way other than leaf .You can have it powdered … and super concentrated.
The concentrated form of green tea is called Matcha, and there are two different “grades” of it … Ceremonial and Culinary. Matcha – literally, “powdered tea” – is a special type of green tea: a precious, jewel-green powder that is whisked with hot water in a bowl to make a frothy beverage of the same name. I ,personally, have not had ceremonial grade matcha, but I have and do use the culinary grade. I also have to admit that when I first tried matcha, it was kind of … strong . The flavor can be very overpowering to a person who does not have an accustomed palette for the tea. That’s because the tea, in powder form, is very concentrated and you only truly need just a small amount added to your water, milk, or soy to get the desired taste you crave. One HUGE thing I love about matcha is that you can add it to almost any food that you want, thus boosting the nutritional benefits with each serving. You can put in your baked goods, your breakfast items, your meats..there are a ton of recipes for matcha ! I DO suggest that you use matcha first as a drink. I make lattes as my drink of choice, and they are delicious ! They are rich, creamy, velvety… and sometimes I even think I am drinking hot chocolate (no joke) ! If you are a lover of green tea, you should consider trying KissMe Organics green tea matcha. It’s the brand I use ,and it’s available on Amazon for a really good price .
