With increasing heat in summer, it’s getting hard to keep our body temperature low. And with the increase in body heat comes with a lot of problems like…

  • Sleeplessness
  • Burning sensation
  • Acne and pimple
  • Loss of concentration

 

So, if you’re suffering from increase in body heat then you’re in the right place. Because in the post, I am going to share the top 3 drinks you can take to reduce body heat and enjoy this summer. But first, a quick info on the cause of body heat to set the stage.

Causes of high body temperature: 

The increase of body temperature can be caused by various reasons like..

  • Medication.
  • Intense physical activity. 
  • Dehydrated
  • illness

 

But the most common reason is food and outside temperature. Eating spicy, oily or fatty food increases the body temperature. Even if you’re eating healthy food like eggs, fish, salmon, nuts, your body heat will increase because these are fatty foods. 

That said, our body needs nutrients throughout the year. So, we can’t stop eating them. Although we can reduce the intake of these foods, still some people won’t like this option. That’s why you should add summer drinks to reduce the heat and no need to reduce these food intakes. Another major reason is outside temperature. If the temperature is humid and hot then it becomes hard for the body to release sweat and cool off. Now, without any more words, let’s check the top 3 drinks for summer to reduce body heat. 

Lemonade 

It is one of the easiest and cheapest drinks you can take to reduce body heat. The Vitamin C present in lemonade reduces the body heat as well as improves the immunity. 

How to prepare?

Take half lemon 

Squeeze the lemon in a glass of water

Add pinch of black salt

Add few Peppermint leaves (optional)

Add 1 tsp sugar(optional)

Stir them and you’re done. 

Buttermilk 

Another simple and cheap drink is buttermilk. Having a glass of buttermilk after the meal not only reduces the body heat but also helps in digestion. 

How to prepare?

Take 2-4 spoon yogurt 

400 ml of Water or as per requirement

Add pinch of powdered cumin seed

Add pinch of black salt

Add few Peppermint leaves (optional)

Mix them and then blend.  Ingredients like cumin powder, peppermint, yogurt, black salt make this a great summer drink because all of them have cooling effects. 

Coconut water 

Straight from the trees coconut water has a cooling effect. Not only does it reduce the body heat but also balances the electrolytes in the body and rehydrates the body. Due to sweating your body loses the electrolytes and in that case coconut water is a great drink to maintain the electrolytes in the body.  

Few Tips to reduce body heat. 

Stay hydrated

Sweating is a way to reduce the heat from the body. That is why it is important to keep your body hydrated so that it can sweat. So, drinking regularly can help you combat dehydration and during summer it is better to drink even if you’re not thirsty. Along with that, add the food in your diet that has high water content like watermelon, cucumber, oranges, strawberries, celery etc. Also, you can also add fruit or vegetable juice and smoothies if you don’t like eating raw food. 

Use HydroTherapy

Hydrotherapy instantly reduces the body heat. That’s why it is a great method to reduce body heat. 

How to do it?

Take a bucket of half filled water. Add some ice cubes to cool the water. Add 1 tsp of rosewater. Now dip your feet into the water for 10 to 15 minutes. this way, not only will your body cool down, but it also calms the mind and reduces the toxins from the blood. You can try it before going to bed as it also helps in sleeping. 

Wear the right type of clothes. 

Shift from tight, dark clothes to loose and light dress. Instead of wearing synthetic or polymer clothes wear cotton or linen fabrics clothes. Tight clothes reduce the air flow and thus your skin isn’t able to breath properly. And synthetic clothes reduce the air flow so your body will not be able to release heat in the air. That is why it is good to wear natural fabrics like cotton.

Increased body temperature in summer is normal. But as body heat can cause many problems, it is better to take precautions. And if the precaution is so simple as adding a drink mentioned in the above list to your daily routine. Then it is not a big deal or a huge change in your lifestyle. 

 

Besides lowering body heat, all the three drinks have some health benefits so it’s better to add these drinks instead of drinking chilled coke, alcohol or cold coffee etc.
