6 great benefits of taking on a juicing diet
Whilst some people may have dismissed juicing and blending fruits and vegetables as a fad at the beginning, the sales of juicers and blenders continue to rise as more people are feeling the benefits of a juicing diet. Here’s what you can expect:
1. A quick way to get nutrients and antioxidants
For years, people thought you had to eat five portions of fruit and veg a day. Even that was a struggle sometimes. But recently, they’ve changed the recommendations. Now, you’ve got to try and eat 10 portions to cut the risk of early death. That’s a lot to try and fit into your daily food intake. Juicing offers a quick and easy alternative as you can find some great recipes that include five or more portions
2. You absorb nutrients quicker when juicing
When you juice fruits and vegetables, you remove the insoluble fibre, meaning the nutrients within are available to the body in much larger quantities than if the piece of fruit or vegetable was eaten whole. Vouchercloud cites the humble carrot’s beta-carotene benefits: “as most of the nutrients are trapped in the fibre of the carrot when eating, you’re only able to assimilate about 1% of the available beta-carotene. When juiced, you can assimilate nearly 100% of the betacarotene.”
3. It can aid weight loss
Juicing isn’t just for losing weight – it can just be a part of a healthy lifestyle, as long as you stick to mainly vegetable-based juices so you aren’t consuming loads of extra calories that may come from fruit juicing. But it’s good for your digestive track too. As juices require less processing from the stomach, it can rest whilst extracting all those beneficial nutrients.
4. You’ll feel more energetic
Getting extra nutrients from juicing will make you feel better, as well as more energetic. What’s more, you can tailor your juices to whatever you think your body needs more of. For example, iron – found in kale and spinach – is a key component of energy production, while ginger and avocados have been found to help with bloating.
5. Homemade juices are much better than shop-bought ones
You might assume picking up a juice at the shops is just as good as juicing at home. But they tend to offer a lot less in the way of nutrients, and have more fructose sugar content, including added sugar, than ones you’ll make at home. If you have to buy one from a supermarket, look out for organic, raw and cold-pressed juices that are mainly vegetable-based.
6. There’s an abundance of recipes to try
With juicing, you’ll never get bored. You can always experiment with new fruits and vegetables and find recipes you’ll love. Check out these eight easy recipes to get you started – we like the sound of the immune booster with oranges, lemon, apple, and fresh ginger.

Maybe I’m going to try this. It looks really good.
Have heard good things and bad things about juicing. Some things I have read say its better to eat the fruit and vegetable whole. And does juicing fill you up?
It’s more cost effective if you just eat fruit whole. But juicing gives you a much re concentrated amount of vitamins and nutrients because you’re eating (drinking) more servings at once. But that’s just my opinion; I personally have at least one fruit or veggie smoothie everyday. You can buy frozen and do the same type of juicing. Just remember to put a liquid base to it.
i really dont like the idea of going on a diet. i rather just drink water but great advice
Hydration is always a good choice. But while water may keep you full, it has no nutrients in it. A juicing diet is used by some as a way to get vitamins in that they haven’t gotten through actual eating.
Thank you for your response!!
I have thought about this but have never done it. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this. Thank you

My daughter loves making the healthy drinks. She is wanting me to try making them. I know that they are good for you. I just haven’t tried this yet.
All of these facts are true. For me I also find I can digest so many fruits and veggies better when they are juiced.
