Cirque Du Soleil Is Pure Magic On Ice
One of the things I really enjoy doing when I get a chance is attending events. It can be any kind of event, too. Comedy, Sports, Music, Foodie… really any kind. But a show that I am totally in love with is the Cirque Du Soleil shows. My very first time watching these performers was on TV when I was still a kid. I was amazed by them. They way they contorted their bodies, the smooth movements they made while performing and just everything about them.
Then, I went to Las Vegas and saw them. Oh… Em… GEEEE! My body was electric just watching them. Since my first time experiencing Cirque Du Soleil in person, I always jump at the chance of seeing when they’re in my area. So far, I’ve seen them twice in Baltimore at the Royal Farms Arena. Once last year, and again just a few weeks ago. The newest show was Crystal. You guys… IT”S ON ICE!!
Cirque du Soleil Crystal
A Breakthrough Ice Experience.
Crystal is not just an ice show, it’s the very first experience on ice from Cirque du Soleil. Watch world-class ice skaters and acrobats claim their new frozen playground with speed and fluidity as they challenge the laws of gravity with never-before-seen acrobatics. A new kind of performance as Cirque du Soleil meets the ice to defy all expectations.
Follow Crystal, our lead character, on an exhilarating tale of self-discovery as she dives into a world of her own imagination. Feel the adrenaline as she soars through this surreal world at high speed to become what she was always destined to be: confident, liberated, empowered.
Heading To Baltimore To See Crystal
When I was notified that I was being gifted tickets to see Cirque Du Soleil: Crystal, I was stoked! Not only will I be seeing another wonderful show, but this one was on ice. I told my baby girl that I wanted her to attend (it was her 1st time seeing CDS in person) and I invited my close friend Charmaine to come with me as well. The show was being held at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore,MD. Since I live about 30 minutes away from Baltimore and wanted to avoid finding parking there in the city, we opted to take the light rail. FYI… the light rail is subway/train that you catch at a park & ride and then it’ll take you to various places in and around Baltimore city.
The light rail mini trip was kinda fun and little annoying, as well. Mainly because there was water (I think it was condensation) literally dripping from the bus ceiling and it was falling on Charmaine, lol. But, we arrived in Baltimore safely and on time… hooray! The light rail actually drops you off right at the arena, so getting lost really shouldn’t ever happen to you.
We’re Here!!
There were so many people out to see the show! Why I would be surprised… I don’t know. But my tickets were waiting for me at the media table, and my seats were pretty awesome!
We saw a few of the performers around the seats chatting while everyone was being seated and/or getting there goodies to eat and drink while the show was going on. I saw the ice ring being prepped and felt the cold set in the building. There was even some real snow that appeared to fall from the ceiling… this was really happening! Below are some photos from the show. I don’t have a lot because firstly, there was really not supposed to be any photography (flash) and second… we were too enthralled in watching the show to take a plethora of photos. So I hope that you enjoy the ones I have been able to share with you today.
My Thoughts
I absolutely loved Crystal. The Cirque Du Soleil family is amazing at what they do. The performers are so talented and the gravity defying acts they do are just…. wow! I know that anyone who goes to watch any of the CDS shows will not be disappointed. When baby girl went to see Crystal with me, she was animated and drawn into the story. That’s a sure sign that the show is enjoyable, because that 16 year old is snarky, sarcastic, and hard to impress…just like her Dad,lol. And Charmaine was blown away. It was first time seeing a show like this, too, and she fully entertained.
I suggest that if ever get a chance to attend a Cirque Du Soleil event… do it! And if you see that Crystal is coming to your city, most definitely go see. It’s so unique and a great way to just have a good date night or family night out
