Manuka Honey – The Best Honey?
Honey. It’s a wonderful golden all natural life elixir created by those amazing little busy bodies called bees. I know many households have a jar or two of honey in their pantries. For whatever necessity we may have, honey seems to be a good, tasty staple for us. Personally, I think I’ve had a little bear honey jar in my house since I was a little girl. With that being said, honey is very tasty but not all honey is created equal. I found that out recently when I tried Wedderspoon Manuka Honey.
What Is Manuka Honey And What Makes It Different?
Manuka Honey is honey that comes from New Zealand and is produced by bees that pollinate in the a bush known as the Manuka Bush. Like most honeys, Manuka has good benefits to it. The difference is that Manuka Honey has therapeutic antibacterial benefits to it that standard, regular honey doesn’t.
These benefits come in to effect when you get a Manuka Honey with a UMF of 10 or above. Some Manuka Honey is labeled as “medical grade” honey, and it should be used for that purpose only. The same goes for Manuka Honey that is made for everyday household use; You should not use household honey to try to treat serious medical ailments.
What Can You Use Manuka Honey For?
When I received my awesome Manuka Honey package from Wedderspoon, I was pretty impressed by the variances that honey provides us. Honey can be made into super moisturizing lip balms, soaps, face creams, and well being items. Honey isn’t just for spooning into a food as a sweetener; It’s so much more than a sugary substance! The lip balms I was given are superb at keeping my lips soft, smooth, and super moisturized. Not to mention, the flavors are pretty tasty, too! I also received a face night cream. It was very soothing on my face and I felt like a celebrity being able to have something so luxurious on my face… no joke!
What I Think About Manuka
Being able to try this honey and its products out for myself has helped to enlighten me on it in so many ways. Not only did I learn that there are way different types of honey out there, I found out that honey is quite beneficial to the body and it’s really not just some super yummy thing I eat. By the way, raw honey has a different look, feel, and consistency to it’ it’s thicker and more dense than the golden flow-y type you get from the regular grocer. I really do enjoy having this higher quality honey in my home.
While it can be a bit of a strain on the pocket (Manuka honey can start at $29 for a small jar), it is a great investment if you’re very vigilant in having an all natural, organic, healthy lifestyle. I would recommend the honey to anyone who can afford to get a jar or two. If you don’t see buying a jar in the near future, though, you can always enter the giveaway below for a chance to win a Manuka Honey prize pack. The Pack consists of face cream, honey, and honey drop samples. Everyone in the U.S. and Canada are welcome to enter, so go ahead and enter.. and Good Luck!!
(Krystal R) I have used Manuka Honey for skin irritations and it works great! This package sounds really nice!
I didn’t know that honey could be “medical grade”. Interesting. I did know that nectar from different flowers made honey taste different. Bees are so incredible!

I have never heard of it until now, but definitely piques my interest.
I like that it is pure honey and the benefits for the body 🙂
I’d love to learn more about it.
I actually thought all honeys ere antibacterial , but perhaps this has more of those tendencies. I believe in honey because it has long been used medicinally through the ages. I love the taste off course and I think this brand would be particularly good as it is all natural.
I really like that the Manuka Honey is all natural & organic! Our family only eat clean, I bake almost every day from scratch. Honey is great to incorporate into so many recipes!
I learned it is a pure honey like the kind I grew up with.I like that it is from new Zealand as they set high quality standards on all food exports.
I did not know it was quite beneficial to the body!! Thanks!
i learned that the honey is from new zealand. it looks so delicious and like its been pulled right from the honeycombs yesterday. instead of “fresh from the farm”, it’s fresh from the comb!
