It’s National Kahlua Day!

Hey, beautiful people! Guess what day it is? That’s right it’s National Kahlua Day! And, I have the best list of drinks & cocktails for you to make for celebrating  the day. Follow along… I’m gonna give you a few recipes and then I’m gonna top it off with my very favorite Kahlua drink to make.

What Is Kahlua, Anyway?

I know, I know. A lot of people already know what Kahlua is, but some people don’t. So. I’m going to take some time and I’m gonna try to explain exactly what it is. 1st thing’s 1st… Some people will tell you that it is just coffee liqueur. When in fact, Kahlua is actually the name of a brand of coffee liqueur. It may sound like I’m splitting hairs, but you should know that there are other coffee liqueurs with different brand names. Kahlua just happens to be one of the most well known ones . This liqueur currently has an alcohol content of 16%. Previously, it had alcohol contents of 20% and 26.5%. Over the years, the brand lessened the amount of alcohol in its liqueur to adjust to “conscious drinking”. To learn more, visit this informative link. And now, let’s get to the fun stuff!

Kahlua & Coffee

This drink is possibly 1 of the simplest ones to make. And I think many people drink it just because it’s something you can have in the morning (in my opinion). How do you make it? You get a cup of coffee ☕ and add 1 shot of Kahlua to the cup. Stir to combine and enjoy! Best thing, you can have this drink with hot, warm, or even cold brew coffee!

Pumpkin Spice Kahlua Coffee

This drink is just like the first coffee drink. But instead just Kahlua & coffee, you add a little pumpkin spice creamer to the mix. I like add whipped cream with pumpkin spice on top to make the drink look fancy.

White Russian & Black Russian

These two drinks could possibly be my top most favorite Kahlua cocktails to have. Super easy to make and yes, pretty fucking delicious to drink. Recipe, you ask? Here you go:

WHITE RUSSIAN

• 2 ounces vodka
• 1 ounce Kahlúa
• 1 splash heavy cream

1. Add the vodka and Kahlúa to a rocks glass filled with ice.
2. Top with the heavy cream and stir.

BLACK RUSSIAN

• 2 ounces vodka
• 1 ounce Kahlúa

1. Add vodka and Kahlúa into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.
2. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice.

That’s It! These are my go to Kahlua drinks. Of course, they are plenty of other options out there. But these 5 are pretty solid and they probably won’t get you tipsy if you’re only having 1. If you’re of age, try them out and let me know what you think of them! Enjoy… HAPPY KAHLÚA DAY!
